Minister's Cabinet

The Minister's Cabinet includes several officials who assist the Minister in carrying out their duties, including mission officers, eight (8) technical advisors, as well as the Internal Inspection and a Personal Secretariat.

Mission Officers
The mission officers work directly under the authority of the Minister and are responsible for permanent or temporary tasks, institutional or specific assignments, such as preparing and leading reforms, pilot programs, or innovative initiatives.
Depending on the nature of their tasks, they may be assisted by technical teams they lead. The organization and management of these teams are defined by a decree from the Minister of Petroleum, Mines, and Energy.

Mission officers with long-term responsibilities include:

  • Mission Officer, Coordinator of the Senegal River Basin Organization (OMVS)
  • Mission Officer, Coordinator of the Local Content Cell
  • Mission Officer for the electricity sector transition
  • Mission Officer for green hydrogen development
  • Mission Officer, Coordinator of the Gas Project Negotiations Support Program (PADG)
  • Mission Officer, Head of Policies and Strategies, Coordinator of the Energy Sector Transformation Program for Sustainable and Accelerated Development

Technical Advisors
The technical advisors also work directly under the authority of the Minister. They are responsible for preparing studies, consultative notes, and proposals on the files assigned to them.
The Ministry has eight (8) technical advisors, including:

  • Advisor in charge of the Legal Affairs Cell
  • Technical Advisor for the upstream oil and gas sector
  • Technical Advisor for electricity
  • Advisor in charge of Cooperation and Communication Cell
  • Economic and Financial Advisor
  • Technical Advisor for industrial safety
  • Technical Advisor for the downstream oil and gas sector
