On Tuesday, March 10, 2025, in Nouakchott, His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Khaled, Minister of Energy and Petroleum, awarded decorations to several civil servants from the Ministry and its affiliated administrations, on behalf of His Excellency Mr. Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, President of the Republic, in celebration of the 64th anniversary of the National Independence.
Thus, His Excellency the Minister presented the Order of Knight of the National Merits System to:
- Ibrahim Ould Abdallah, former Director General of Electricity
- Itoul Amrou Ould Azeizi, Director of Planning, Monitoring, and Cooperation
- El-Hadrami Mohamed Mbark, Director of Petroleum Product Supply and Distribution
- Ab Ould Ahbiby, Director of Urban Works at the Sogem Group
- Abdallah Lembareb Diop, Head of Electrical Transmission Network Maintenance
He also awarded the Order of National Enthusiasm to:
- Mohamed Mahmoud Ahmetou Bih, Special Advisor for Modernization at the Sogem Group
- Salkh Sidiaty Ieh, Director of Public Media
- Fatimata Mohamed Sid Almin, Director of Electricity at the Ministry
- Zakaria Brahima Soumare, Director of Renewable Energy at the Ministry
- Cheikh Ahmedou Mohamed Abdellah Loukman, Head of Works Execution at the Sogem Group
Regarding the First-Class Honor Medals, they were awarded to:
- Mokhtar Ould Mohamed Khadr, Technical Advisor at the Mauritanian Refined Industries Company
- Najah Bachir, Head of Operations at the Sogem Group
- Lembareb Ould Khalifa Am Habib, Head of Works at the Sogem Group
- Lina Abdou Ngay, Head of the Central Secretariat at the Ministry
- Mohamed Kande Sajia Ba Ki, Head of Operations and Networks at the Sogem Group
- Mahtallah Ja Mahtallah, Head of Transport at the Sogem Group
- Mohamed Samba, Driver at the Mauritanian Hydrocarbons Company
- Leplam Douman Darmane, Head of the Petroleum Registration Department at the Ministry
The Second-Class Honor Medals were awarded to:
- El-Hassan Ali Mouloud, Head of Finance and Accounting at the Mauritanian Refined Industries Company
- Jamal Mohamed Abdelrahman Ahmed Mahmoud, Engineer at the General Directorate of Electricity
- Cheikh Ahmedou Abdi, Head of the Systems Department at the Ministry
Finally, the Third-Class Honor Medals were awarded to:
- Mokhtar Mohamed El Amin, Private Secretary to the Minister
- Maimouna Abdel-Baqi Nteha, Secretary at the General Directorate of the Mauritanian Hydrocarbons Company
The decoration ceremony was held in the presence of the Ministry's Secretary General and several senior officials from the sector.
